If you are interested in meeting a particular cat, please email us to verify that he or she is still available for adoption and present at the shelter. Many of our cats are in foster homes, so please email us to let us know who you want to meet and when, so that we can arrange to bring them to an adoption event.

My previous owner moved and simply left me outside to fend for myself. I was so confused--I sat at the back door and waited and waited for someone to come home. A concerned neighbor started feeding me and called the AWLMC when they witnessed some teenagers harassing me. Despite all this, I am an exceptionally friendly, loving, and playful guy.
I am very self-confident, will let you know what I like and what I don't like, and am very open to playing with other cats. Though some may think I play a little rough... I'm just a big rough-and-tumble kinda guy. I am very intelligent and I like to be taught tricks, like climbing into a cat carrier all by myself.
I love sleeping very close to my humans at night, and if you listen closely, I might be very quietly purring. At night I don't make noise like some cats do. I am so easy to care for... just give me a bowl of kibble and some water, and I'm all set for the day. I don't care about any fancy feast, that's for sure. I'm looking forward to finding a forever home soon.
I was brought to AWLMC from the Montgomery County Human Society. My former owner abandoned me. Lucky for me I was brought to this nice shelter to find a new home. I am a handsome Russian Blue mix. Some people call me a “gentle giant”. I love people and enjoy sitting in their laps, kneading and purring. I don’t mind being held, picked up or even brushed once I get to know you. I am a talker and am quite curious. I like looking out the window too.

ARGENT
Neutered Male
DOB: 2008
My brother Jazz and I are house hunting. We had a happy life for over three years. Then our owner decided to adopt an eighty pound Labrador Retriever with a terrifying bark. Our quiet home was gone and we lived in fear. That's why I'm seeking a dog free, quiet environment where we can be loved for ourselves. We're friendly, outgoing gorgeous cats that have to live together. We like attention and we like being groomed. We make terrific pet.

For the most part I look to my brother Argent to take the lead. I tend to be nervous at first meeting, but once I feel safe I will rub on you and purr for attention. I'm a sweet, gentle fellow and I adore being groomed. When our person brought home an eighty pound Labrador retriever with a ferocious bark I knew it was time to find better accommodations. I'd like a quiet home where my brother and I can live dog-free with humans who will love us.

I'm a bright, inquisitive, loving little girl. I like to play and keep on top of household goings-on. My favorite place to sleep is next to you at night, but don't worry, I won't try to hog either the bed or the covers. I get along great with other cats and if you want a playful, friendly companion, I'm your gal. I can't wait to find my forever home with my brother, Kermit. We are bonded and would like to find a home together. Please take us home.
